 Ending

The respectful queue, the requiem
The dirge, the dark, drab dress
Dusted down, especially.
The solemn silence of mourning
on that bright new day
when beams of sun inspire the soul
with humour, joy and life.
In ending, we begin.

Denis Wong, 28 October 1999
