The man's face slowly surfaces
as she moves past the veneer
of elevator door, office windows,
granite wall ...
What was his name?
The one who said something:
hello:
or was it her father,
or the office manager who died.
Without meaning to she enters
a board room ... Eyes stare
blankly.
O God, could she scream?
